About O-Bee Manfred Justice (OMAN) EX94 PI ET *TL*TV:
Oman remains No 1 for PLI with a massive £256. In spite of the base change, he increased his PLI by £35. (updated AL Jan 10)
This week?s publication of the new bull proofs by DairyCo breeding+ saw the remarkable O-Bee Manfred Justice (otherwise known as O-Man) reinforce his position as ?the most profitable dairy bull in the world?.As the number one Profitable Lifetime Index (PLI) bull, he builds on an exceptional six years during which he has remained in the top five for this index - most of this time in the number one position.Inevitably, O-Man has been keenly sought around the world and semen supplies to each country, including the UK, have been strictly limited. But this month sees a change in that position, as Dairy Daughters have secured extra supplies of O-Man which are being made available to British producers at a highly competitive rate.?We?re absolutely delighted to have secured these supplies,? says Dairy Daughters managing director Evans Drayton. ?We have always had to compete with the huge home market in the USA and a large international demand, but the difficult situation for the US dairy industry as well as the weakness of the dollar have worked in our favour.?Semen will be priced at £40 which is said to reflect the company?s policy of passing any cost-savings back to the customer.?Other companies have often hiked up prices as soon as a bull does really well, but we would rather reward our loyal customers with a good deal,? says Mr Drayton.Commenting on the bull?s performance he adds: ?O-Man is a truly remarkable bull, whose performance - as the sire of seven of the top 10 PLI bulls - is unprecedented in the dairy industry.?He is the highest Profitable Lifetime Index bull ever, and he performs equally well on a variety of countries? national indexes, where he also ranks number one including in Holland and Germany.?But it is in his excellent performance for health and welfare without compromise to milk production where his greatest value lies,? adds Mr Drayton. ?His daughters are exactly the type required by the modern dairy producer and independent breeding specialists have highlighted him as the bull for ?every farmer interested in profit?.?He now has 700 daughters milking in the UK and many thousand world-wide, and Predicted Transmitting Abilities (PTAs) which feature 734kg milk, 33.6kg fat and 29.6kg protein as well as improvements in cell count (-21), fertility (+2.5), feet and legs (+1.15) and lifespan (+0.6). His PLI is a phenomenal £286.
(updated AL August 09)
O Bee Manfred Justice remarkably retains his long-held number one position, increasing his PLI to a phenomenal £285 and extending his lead, with 563 UK daughters now contributing to his proof. With PLI?s 55 per cent emphasis on fitness traits alongside a 45 per cent emphasis on production, it is little surprise that it is in fitness that O-Man shines. His -22 SCC Index reflects a big improvement over average, while daughters average +0.6 lactation's for Lifespan, and show strong improvements in fertility with a Fertility Index of +3.1.?This bull also typifies the modern Holstein type profile requested by the commercial dairy farmer, of cows that carry extra condition, and are solid rather than extreme type improvers as indicated by his Type Merit of +0.8,? says Mr Winters, Dairy Co.
(updated April 09)
There is no stopping O-Bee Manfred JUSTICE!
His full UK production proof is now based on 395 daughters in 69 herds. A further 98 daughters in 15 herds saw production increasing from 677kgs to 704kgs, PLI from £265 to £267, Fertility Index from -1.1 to +1.6 and SCC from -20 to -21. Lifespan remained at +0.6.
74 daughters in 10 herds were added to Type, now 238 in 70 and the proof remained consistent with the exception of Condition score which increased from 0.91 to a massive 3.16 ranking him in 1st place and a clear 2 points ahead of the next bull on the list.
Supply is limited and farmers looking to use the genetics of O-Bee Manfred JUSTICE should consider one of his sons. Dairy Daughters are pleased to introduce Ralma O-Man Crest which was joint progeny tested with Select Sires. Details are listed under dairy sires.
(updated AL Jan 09)
O Bee Manfred Justice re-writes the history of the Holstein breed for production, by maintaining the No1 position in 7 countries based on over 30,000 milking daughters. He truly is the best production sire ever! With outstanding health and management traits, Justice daughters are easy to manage and add incredible value to the bottom line. Top genetic herds in the UK are already seeing the benefits and buying more semen while it is still available.
(updated AL Jan 09)
'Justice daughters are perfect cows for "bottom-line" dairymen who want to improve the profitability of their dairy operations with healthy cows that are trouble free and produce high component milk. I have seen over 100 second crop daughters and they are very consistent in their type pattern, great feet and legs with outstanding dairy strength. They have correct rump structure, both angle and width, which is evident by the Justice daughters outstanding reproductive performance. For dairy producers complaining about rear teat placement getting too close, Justice is a bull that fixes that problem and adds adequate width to the placement of rear teats for ease of milking. We are currently contracting the Justice daughters to produce sons for our PGA program in the future. The Justice daughters are very persistent producers, they do not peak very high early in lactation, but hold their lactation curves very well to finish with outstanding records.'
