'It was really early to be viewing daughters of PALERMO but we were able to view 9 milking daughters, all early in their first lactation's, plus several springing heifers, along with the cow family from this great bull. The daughters of PALERMO are not what you would expect from a Goldwyn X Rudolph, as they have the strength, power, and substance of bone coming through from the cow family. The daughters are wide in the chest, deep in the heart, with plenty of strength and width throughout, especially being wide in the rump. They also have long rumps with nearly ideal slope. They are tall, and they have good sweep and depth to the rib. Be sure to use PALERMO on clean-boned cows with a straighter leg. The best thing about the PALERMO daughters are their udders! They have extremely shallow udders, with long, smooth fore udder attachments. Their rear udders have excellent width and good height; they have deep clefts, and their teat placement is ideal. PALERMO will be a great bull to add strength, power, and substance of bone, along with super udders to a breeding program.'

New Goldwyn son Palermo is one of the most complete bulls to come out of the US for a long time. His £PLI of £121 reflects his decent level of milk production as well as positive fat and protein percentages. He is a bull that will help control cell counts and is also calving ease. His balanced type profile has no holes, breeding tall, strong dairy cows with correct feet and legs as well as great udders. He is a son of Braedale Goldwyn (James x Storm from Braedale Baler Twine) out of a VG89 Rudolph dam who has already completed three lactations with a best record of 15,490 kgs at 4.5% fat and 3.4% protein. Her dam is a VG87 Formation who goes back to a VG85 Blackstar, and a VG87 Chief Mark. |
