About Chemello SELVINO:
Selvino comes from a family of cows that are excellent in their conformation as well as in their production. This family is well respected, both in Italy and abroad. The ?brood cow? of this family - the sixth generation ahead of Selvino - was a beautiful, 88-point Complete with a VG udder. The fifth dam was a Secret classified VG with an EX mammary system. In 5 lactations, she produced slightly less than 70,000 Kg of milk. In the fourth generation before Selvino, we find a very well known cow named Southwind Uva, a VG 87 which also had an EX mammary system. At one point, Chemello?s barn housed 25 daughters of Uva, which included Chemello Slocum Gią, the dam of Zarik and 2nd dam of Selvino. This was a tall, very powerful cow with a remarkable body capacity and excellent bone quality. A strong top line with a large rump (that left ample space for the rear udder) were characteristics found in its descendents, and in Selvino?s daughters as well.
Selvino?s dam, on the other hand, is a very strong daughter of Jocko Besne that was born on the Chemello farm and sold in Holland, where she had a successful career as a highly sought-after dam of bulls, whose offspring are expected at Semex, Alta, Genes Diffusion and Holland Genetics.
Sire pattern:
A super bull with impressive siring continuity.
He sires balanced cows, with a good stature and an excellent combination of strength and dairyness. Slightly flat rumps, good width. The legs are slightly straight, with a very good foot angle and strong pasterns.
The udders have an average-to-good fore attachment and very high and wide rear attachments, a very strong udder cleft, and well-positioned teats of proper length. The quality of the mammary texture is excellent!
These cows produce a great deal and have an excellent lactation curve, so that production is maintained at high levels. Based on what we have seen, Selvino can be considered to be an exceptional bull.
